In-company AI training or an open course: which is better for the board?

For the board, in-company. An open course teaches the subject; an in-company program works with the company’s own decisions, documents and priorities and aligns leadership around the same direction. That is why every Almai program is designed for the company that hires it.

An open course has its place: it suits people who want to learn the subject at their own pace, alongside professionals from other companies. The problem appears when the goal is to change how the board works and decides. Each director comes back with a different idea of what to do, and the company still has no shared direction.

In the in-company format, the raw material is the company itself:

  • the reports, proposals and meetings the board already has on its calendar;
  • the open decisions and the year’s priorities;
  • the usage rules and the data the company allows into the tools;
  • a frank conversation among the people who will decide together what comes first.

There’s also a practical matter: strategy and internal documents only go into a closed room.

If the board doesn’t work with AI, the company is only playing at transformation.

The guide How in-company AI training for leadership works shows what happens before, during and after. At Almai, the shortest format is the one- or two-day In-Company Executive Immersion.

The best answer comes in a conversation.
